Upcoming Technology: "The Sixth Sense"

Straight from the MIT's Pattie Maes Lab comes the "Sixth Sense", the newest in motion based technology. Users wear a camera and projector as well as pointers in order to capture movement. The camera responds to common gestures such as forming a your hands as a camera to take picutres. The camera also reponds to various objects placed in front of it to give more information about it, e.g. books, plane tickets, and even people. See for yourself:

This is a great blog. I imagine that some NSBE students have interest in the information technology (IT) industry based on this post.

We wanted to ensure that you were aware of this intiative. Do you know of any college students at University of Pennsylvania that would benefit from complimentary membership into the BDPA Philadelphia chapter (defending 'Chapter of the Year')?

BDPA Philadelphia Chapter would like to offer 25 complimentary college student memberships to Penn students.

BDPA, Black Data Processing Associates, was founded in 1975 by Earl A. Pace,Jr and the late David Wimberly after the two met in Philadelphia to discuss their concerns about minorities in the data processing field. Today, BDPA is a global member focused organization that serves the professional well being of its stakeholders. BDPA remains committed to excellence and providing a wide spectrum of resources to members, corporate sponsors, businesses, educational institutions and the community. The organization is a catalyst for professional growth and technical development for those in the IT industry.
